Ingredients
- Spaghetti – 400 g / 14 oz
- Ground beef – 500 g / 1 lb
- Onion, finely chopped – 1 medium / 150 g
- Garlic, minced – 3 cloves
- Tomato paste – 2 tablespoons / 30 g
- Canned tomatoes – 400 g / 14 oz
- Ground cumin – 1 teaspoon / 2 g
- Ground coriander – 1 teaspoon / 2 g
- Ground cinnamon – 1/2 teaspoon / 1 g
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons / 30 ml
- Salt – 1 teaspoon / 5 g
- Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon / 1 g
- Fresh cilantro, chopped – 1/4 cup / 15 g
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned evenly.
- Stir in the tomato paste, canned tomatoes, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
- Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for 20-25 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce. Sprinkle chopped cilantro on top before serving.
