This bread symbolizes unity and blessings in Serbian culture. Meticulously crafted, this delicacy is not just a feast for the eyes with its elaborate braided and festive decorations, but also delivers layers of comforting flavor from carefully selected ingredients. The dough is soft yet structured, adorned with symbolic patterns, making both the presentation and taste truly memorable.

  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf, transferring it to a greased baking pan.
  8. Decorate the top of the loaf with dough motifs like crosses and braids.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown on top and hollow sounding when tapped on the bottom.
