Ingredients
- puff pastry sheets – 2 sheets (approximately 500 g)
- cream cheese – 8 oz / 225 g, softened
- granulated sugar – 1/2 cup / 100 g
- pure vanilla extract – 1 tsp
- egg – 1 large, beaten for egg wash
- honey – 2 tbsp
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each into 9 squares.
- Place a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
- Fold each square into a triangle or roll them into a log shape, ensuring the seams are sealed to prevent filling leakage.
- Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and immediately brush with honey for a glossy finish.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
