Ingredients
- Beef brisket – 1/2 lb / 225 g
- Korean radish (mu) – 1 lb / 450 g
- Garlic – 3 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
- Sesame oil – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
- Salt – 1 tsp / 5 g
- Ground black pepper – 1/2 tsp / 2.5 g
- Water – 8 cups / 1.9 L
- Green onions – 2, sliced
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil. Add the beef brisket and cook for about 15 minutes until the beef is partially cooked.
- Remove the beef from the pot, let it cool slightly, then thinly slice it against the grain.
- Add the sliced beef back into the pot along with the radish, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 30-40 minutes until the radish is tender and the flavors meld together.
- Adjust the seasoning with additional soy sauce or salt if needed. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
