Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour – 2 1/2 cups / 300 g
  • Butter – 1 cup / 226 g, softened
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp
  • Cold water – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Slowly add cold water, mixing until the dough holds together.
  3. Form a ball, wrap in plastic, and chill for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Roll out dough on a floured surface into a 1/8-inch thick rectangle.
  6. Sprinkle sugar evenly over the surface.
  7. Cut into desired shapes and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
