Ingredients
- cornmeal – 1 cup / 150 g
- water – 2 cups / 480 ml
- kaymak or clotted cream – 1/2 cup / 120 g
- feta cheese – 1 cup / 150 g, crumbled
- butter – 1/4 cup / 60 g
- salt – 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, bring the water and salt to a boil.
- Slowly whisk in the cornmeal, ensuring there are no lumps.
- Reduce the heat to low, stirring frequently, and cook for about 15 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
- Add the butter, kaymak, and crumbled feta cheese to the cornmeal. Stir well until the cheese melts and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Serve the Cicvara hot, accompanied by bread or as a side dish.
