Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour – 2 cups / 250 g
  • Hot water – 3/4 cup / 180 ml
  • Pork mince – 1 lb / 450 g
  • Green onions, finely chopped – 1/2 cup / 50 g
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
  • Shaoxing wine – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
  • Sesame oil – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
  • Ginger, minced – 1 tbsp / 15 g
  • Salt – 1 tsp / 5 g
  • Black pepper – 1/2 tsp / 2.5 g
  • Cooking oil – for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour with hot water to form a dough. Knead until smooth.
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix pork mince, green onions, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Divide dough into equal portions and roll each into a thin circle.
  5. Place a portion of the meat filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal, forming a pie.
  6. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the meat pies until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  7. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
