Ingredients
- All-purpose flour – 2 cups / 250 g
- Hot water – 3/4 cup / 180 ml
- Pork mince – 1 lb / 450 g
- Green onions, finely chopped – 1/2 cup / 50 g
- Soy sauce – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
- Shaoxing wine – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
- Sesame oil – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
- Ginger, minced – 1 tbsp / 15 g
- Salt – 1 tsp / 5 g
- Black pepper – 1/2 tsp / 2.5 g
- Cooking oil – for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour with hot water to form a dough. Knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix pork mince, green onions, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Divide dough into equal portions and roll each into a thin circle.
- Place a portion of the meat filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal, forming a pie.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the meat pies until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
