Ingredients

  • phyllo dough – 500 g
  • ground beef – 400 g
  • onion – 1 large, finely chopped
  • garlic cloves – 2, minced
  • salt – 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
  • oil – 2 tablespoons
  • butter – 50 g, melted
  • yogurt – 1 cup / 240 ml, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, warm the oil and sauté the onions and garlic until soft.
  3. Add the ground beef, salt, and black pepper, cook until the meat is browned and cooked through. Set aside to cool slightly.
  4. On a clean surface, spread out a sheet of phyllo dough. Brush with melted butter and place another sheet on top.
  5. Spread a layer of the meat mixture along one end and tightly roll the dough to enclose the filling.
  6. Cut into 5 cm pieces and place on a buttered baking tray.
  7. Brush the tops with more melted butter and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with yogurt.
