Ingredients

  • beef sirloin – 500 g / 1.1 lbs
  • onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
  • mushrooms – 100 g / 3.5 oz, chopped
  • bread crumbs – 50 g / 1/2 cup
  • pickles – 2, finely chopped
  • butter – 2 tbsp
  • vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • beef stock – 500 ml / 2 cups
  • flour – 2 tbsp
  • salt – to taste
  • black pepper – to taste

Instructions

  1. Pound the beef sirloin slices until thin.
  2. In a pan, melt butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until soft.
  3. Mix breadcrumbs and pickles into the onion and mushroom mixture.
  4. Place a spoonful of the mixture onto each beef slice, roll tightly, and secure with a toothpick.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet and sear the beef rolls on all sides.
  6. Sprinkle flour over the rolls and pour in beef stock.
  7. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes until the beef is tender.
  8. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
