- red wine – 1 cup / 240 ml

- flour – 2 tbsp / 16 g
- butter – 2 tbsp / 28 g
- store-bought pie crust – 2 sheets
- egg – 1, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Brown the venison in batches and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté onions until translucent, then add carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well.
- Gradually add red wine, stirring constantly, then add beef stock.
- Return venison to the pan, add thyme, and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Stir in peas, season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Line a pie dish with one pie crust, fill with the venison mixture, and cover with the second crust.
- Brush the top with beaten egg and cut slits to allow steam to escape.
- Bake for 40 minutes until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
