Ingredients
- Red chili peppers – 5 medium / about 50 g
- Garlic – 3 cloves / 15 g
- White vinegar – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
- Granulated sugar – 1/2 cup / 100 g
- Water – 1/3 cup / 80 ml
- Cornstarch – 1 tablespoon / 8 g
- Salt – 1/2 teaspoon / 3 g
Instructions
- Finely chop the red chili peppers and garlic.
- In a small saucepan, combine chopped chili peppers, garlic, white vinegar, sugar, water, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to make a slurry.
- Once the sauce is boiling, reduce the heat and gradually add the cornstarch slurry while stirring continuously.
- Simmer until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat, let cool, and transfer to a sterilized glass jar.
