Ingredients

  • pork cutlets – 4 pieces / 600 g
  • onions – 3 large / 450 g
  • butter – 2 tbsp / 28 g
  • flour – 1/2 cup / 60 g
  • salt – 1 tsp
  • black pepper – 1 tsp
  • vegetable oil – 2 tbsp / 30 ml

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions thinly. Set aside.
  2. Season the pork cutlets with salt and black pepper.
  3. Dredge the cutlets in flour, shaking off any excess.
  4. Heat butter and vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the onions and cook, stirring frequently, until golden and caramelized (about 20 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high and cook the pork cutlets on each side until golden brown and cooked through (about 4 minutes per side).
  7. Return the caramelized onions to the skillet, covering the pork cutlets.
  8. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the dish simmer for an additional 5 minutes to blend the flavors.
  9. Serve hot, with the onions spooned over the cutlets.
