Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour – 2 cups / 240 g
  • unsalted butter – 1/2 cup / 113 g
  • granulated sugar – 1/4 cup / 50 g
  • egg yolks – 4 large
  • vanilla extract – 1 tsp
  • heavy cream – 1 cup / 240 ml
  • powdered sugar – 1/4 cup / 30 g
  • confectioner’s sugar (for dusting) – as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg yolks and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the flour until the dough is smooth and pliable. Roll out thinly on a floured surface.
  4. Cut the dough into strips and wrap around metal cones to form tubes.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely.
  6. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.
  7. Fill a piping bag with the whipped cream and carefully fill each pastry tube.
  8. Dust with confectioner’s sugar before serving.
