Ingredients

  • milk – 1/4 cup / 60 ml

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in lemon zest and vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, until the dough forms.
  7. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Cut into small twisted shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Sprinkle granulated sugar over the top of each pastry.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
