Ingredients

  • Red chilies, finely sliced – 2
  • Lime juice – 2 tablespoons / 30 ml
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon / 5 g
  • Salt – 1/4 teaspoon / 1.5 g
  • Warm water – 1/4 cup / 60 ml

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the fermented fish paste with warm water. Stir until the paste is dissolved.
  2. Add the finely chopped garlic, minced shallots, and sliced red chilies to the bowl.
  3. Mix in lime juice, sugar, and salt. Stir well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  4. Allow the mixture to sit for at least 10 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more lime juice or salt as required.
