Ingredients

  • Mozzarella balls – 500 g / approx. 18 oz
  • All-purpose flour – 1 cup / 120 g
  • Eggs – 2 large
  • Breadcrumbs – 2 cups / 240 g
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Parsley (chopped) – 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) – 1 liter / 34 fl oz

Instructions

  1. Pat dry the mozzarella balls with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  2. Prepare three separate bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt, pepper, and parsley.
  3. Coat each mozzarella ball first in flour, then dip in the egg, and finally roll in the breadcrumb mixture to cover completely.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot to 175°C / 347°F.
  5. Fry the coated mozzarella balls in batches for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve immediately while the center is still gooey, alongside a favorite dipping sauce, if desired.
