Moksal is a beloved Korean meat dish featuring succulent slices of grilled pork neck. Ingredients

  • pork neck (moksal) – 2 lbs / 900 g
  • soy sauce – 1/4 cup / 60 ml
  • sugar – 2 tbsp / 25 g
  • minced garlic – 1 tbsp / 15 g
  • sesame oil – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
  • ground black pepper – 1 tsp / 2 g
  • sesame seeds – 1 tbsp / 10 g
  • green onions, chopped – 2 stalks

Instructions

  1. Slice the pork neck into 1/4 inch thick pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  3. Add the pork slices to the marinade and mix well to ensure even coating.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to infuse.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  6. Grill the pork slices for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through and nicely charred.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the grilled pork before serving.
