Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour – 3 cups / 360 g
  • warm water – 1 1/2 cups / 360 ml
  • active dry yeast – 2 teaspoons
  • salt – 1 teaspoon
  • sugar – 1 tablespoon
  • olive oil – 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add in the flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into balls. Flatten each ball slightly.
  7. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
