Ingredients
- Beef steak – 4 pieces / 800 g
- Black pepper – 2 tbsp / 12 g
- Salt – 1 tsp / 5 g
- Coconut milk – 1 can / 400 ml
- Garlic cloves – 4 cloves, minced
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
- Onion – 1 medium, chopped
- Red bell pepper – 1, sliced
- Lime – 1, juice only
- Fresh coriander – A handful, chopped
Instructions
- Season the beef steaks with salt and half of the black pepper. Let them sit for at least 15 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear each side for 3-4 minutes until browned. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- Using the same skillet, add the garlic and onion. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the red bell pepper and the remaining black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Pour in the coconut milk, stirring occasionally, until it simmers. Let it reduce slightly to thicken.
- Return the steaks to the skillet, covering them in the sauce. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes depending on the desired doneness.
- Add lime juice and sprinkle with fresh coriander before serving.
