Ingredients
- Button mushrooms – 250 g / 8.8 oz
- Green peas – 200 g / 7 oz
- Onion, finely chopped – 1 large / 150 g
- Tomato, pureed – 2 large / 300 g
- Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp / 15 g
- Green chili, slit – 1
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
- Cilantro, chopped – Handful for garnish
Instructions
- Clean and quarter the mushrooms.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat; add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste and green chili; cook until the raw aroma dissipates.
- Mix in tomato puree; cook until oil separates from the mixture.
- Add turmeric, red chili, and coriander powder; sauté for a minute.
- Toss in mushrooms and peas; mix well.
- Add salt and 1 cup of water; bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in garam masala; adjust seasoning.
- Garnish with cilantro before serving.
