Mashuai is a delectable seafood dish that hails from the coastal shores of Oman, specifically renowned for its exquisite preparation of grilled kingfish. Ingredients
- Kingfish fillets – 4 fillets (about 800 g)
- Lemon juice – 1/4 cup / 60 ml
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
- Garlic cloves, minced – 3 cloves
- Cumin powder – 1 tsp / 2 g
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp / 1 g
- Salt – 1 tsp / 5 g
- Black pepper – 1/2 tsp / 1 g
- Coriander leaves, chopped – 2 tbsp / 8 g
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, turmeric, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the kingfish fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Grill the marinated kingfish fillets for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and charred on the edges.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving. Enjoy with rice or flatbread.
