- salt – 1 tsp
- potatoes, peeled and grated – 500 g / 4 cups
- onion, finely chopped – 150 g / 1 cup
- vegetable oil – 100 ml / 7 tbsp
- black pepper – to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing with your hands until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 10 minutes. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the grated potatoes, chopped onion, salt, and pepper to create the filling.
- Roll the rested dough into a large, thin rectangle. Spread the vegetable oil across the surface.
- Distribute the potato mixture evenly over the dough.
- Carefully roll the dough into a log, ensuring the filling stays inside. Coil it into a spiral shape and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Brush with additional oil and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
