Ingredients
- Fleckerl pasta – 12 oz / 340 g
- White cabbage – 1 small head / 900 g
- Butter – 4 tbsp / 56 g
- Onion – 1 large, diced / 200 g
- Salt – 1.5 tsp / 8 g
- Black pepper – 1 tsp / 5 g
- Sugar – 1 tbsp / 15 g
- Caraway seeds – 1 tsp / 5 g
Instructions
- Boil a pot of salted water and cook the Fleckerl pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage, cut it into quarters, and slice finely.
- In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
- Add the sliced cabbage into the pan with the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, or until the cabbage is wilted.
- Season the cabbage with salt, black pepper, sugar, and caraway seeds. Continue to cook for another 10 minutes, allowing the cabbage to caramelize and soften.
- Mix the cooked pasta into the pan of cabbage and onions. Stir well to combine and let them heat through for about 2-3 minutes.
- Adjust the seasoning to taste and serve warm.
