Ingredients

  • pljukanci pasta – 400 g / 14 oz
  • olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • garlic – 2 cloves, minced
  • cremini mushrooms – 200 g / 7 oz, sliced
  • prosciutto – 100 g / 3.5 oz, thinly sliced
  • heavy cream – 200 ml / 6.8 fl oz
  • Parmesan cheese – 50 g / 1.8 oz, grated
  • nutmeg – 1/4 tsp
  • black pepper – to taste
  • salt – to taste
  • fresh parsley – for garnish, chopped

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pljukanci pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until browned and tender, approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the prosciutto and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing it to crisp slightly.
  5. Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring occasionally until warmed through.
  6. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and nutmeg, stirring until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Toss the drained pljukanci in the sauce until well coated. Serve immediately, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
