Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour – 4 cups / 520 g
  • granulated sugar – 1/2 cup / 100 g
  • baking powder – 1 tbsp / 15 g
  • cardamom pods (ground) – 1 tsp / 2 g
  • salt – 1/2 tsp / 3 g
  • milk – 1 cup / 240 ml
  • butter (melted) – 1/2 cup / 115 g
  • egg – 1 large
  • vanilla extract – 1 tsp / 5 ml
  • cinnamon sugar (for topping) – 1/4 cup / 60 g

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, ground cardamom, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough into two logs, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and let cool.
  7. Once cooled, slice the logs into thin pieces.
  8. Reduce oven temperature to 300°F (150°C).
  9. Place the slices back on the baking sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  10. Bake an additional 10-15 minutes or until crispy and golden. Cool completely before serving.
