  • egg yolks – 2
  • salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • cream cheese – 1 cup / 225 g
  • apricot jam – 1/2 cup / 120 g
  • poppy seed filling – 1/2 cup / 120 g
  • crumble topping – 1/2 cup / 115 g (made from flour, butter, and sugar)

Instructions

  1. Heat milk to body temperature and dissolve yeast with a teaspoon of sugar; let it sit until foamy.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Melt butter and add it with egg yolks and yeast mixture into the dry ingredients, kneading until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Divide the dough into 8 portions. Flatten each into a disk and press a well into the center.
  7. Fill each with cream cheese and either apricot jam or poppy seed filling.
  8. Top with crumble topping.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
