Ingredients
- minced beef – 1 lb / 450 g
- minced lamb – 0.5 lb / 225 g
- onion, finely chopped – 1 large / 150 g
- garlic, minced – 3 cloves
- fresh parsley, chopped – 1/4 cup / 15 g
- salt – 1 tsp / 5 g
- black pepper – 1/2 tsp / 2 g
- ground cumin – 1/2 tsp / 2 g
- ground coriander – 1/2 tsp / 2 g
- all-purpose flour – 2 cups / 240 g
- water – 3/4 cup / 180 ml
- egg, beaten – 1 large
- olive oil – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine minced beef, minced lamb, onion, garlic, and parsley.
- Season the mixture with salt, pepper, cumin, and coriander, mixing until well combined.
- To prepare the dough, combine flour, water, and egg in another bowl, kneading until smooth.
- Roll the dough thinly on a floured surface and cut into large squares.
- Place a portion of the meat mixture onto the center of each dough square.
- Fold the dough over the filling, sealing the edges tightly.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Cook the sealed parcels in batches until golden brown on both sides.
- Transfer to a baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes.
