Ingredients

  • blanched almonds – 2 cups / 300 g
  • granulated sugar – 1 cup / 200 g
  • unsalted butter – 3 tablespoons / 45 g
  • orange blossom water – 2 tablespoons / 30 ml
  • all-purpose flour – 2 cups / 240 g
  • water – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
  • salt – 1/2 teaspoon / 3 g
  • powdered sugar – for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grind the blanched almonds and granulated sugar into a fine powder.
  3. Mix the ground almond mixture with the butter and orange blossom water to form a paste.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add water, kneading until a soft, elastic dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough thinly and cut into small circles.
  6. Place a small amount of almond paste onto each circle, fold in half, and shape into crescents.
  7. Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  8. Cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.
