Ingredients

  • Lamb or Beef (Thinly Sliced) – 500 g / 17.6 oz
  • Pita Bread – 4 pieces
  • Tomato Sauce – 2 cups / 480 ml
  • Butter – 125 g / 1 cup
  • Yogurt – 1 cup / 240 ml
  • Olive Oil – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black Pepper – to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat and add the slices of meat.
  3. Season with salt and black pepper, cooking until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Warm the pita bread in the oven for 5 minutes.
  5. In a small saucepan, heat the tomato sauce until simmering. Keep warm.
  6. Melt the butter in a separate pan until it begins to brown slightly.
  7. Assemble by placing the pita bread on a large serving platter, topping with the sliced meat.
  8. Drizzle the meat and bread with tomato sauce, followed by the melted butter.
  9. Serve immediately with a side of yogurt.
