Ingredients

  • oil for frying – 2 cups / 480 ml

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing, until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. For the filling, mix ground beef with finely chopped onion and black pepper in another bowl.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a thin circle about 8 inches in diameter.
  4. Place a generous tablespoon of the beef mixture on one half of each dough circle. Fold the other half over the filling, pressing the edges firmly to seal.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep pan. Fry each Çiğ Börek on medium heat until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
