- phyllo dough – 500 g / 1 lb
- cottage cheese – 400 g / 14 oz
- feta cheese – 200 g / 7 oz
- eggs – 3 large
- sour cream – 200 ml / 3/4 cup
- butter – 100 g / 7 tbsp
- milk – 100 ml / 1/2 cup
- salt – 1 tsp
- pepper – 1/2 tsp
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (360°F).
- Melt the butter and use some to grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, feta, eggs, sour cream, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Layer three sheets of phyllo dough in the greased baking dish, brushing each sheet lightly with melted butter.
- Spread a portion of the cheese mixture evenly over the phyllo.
- Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of phyllo.
- In a small saucepan, warm the milk and remaining butter together, then pour over the prepared gibanica.
- Bake for approximately 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
