Ingredients
- Phyllo Dough – 1 package / 16-18 sheets
- Unsalted Butter – 1 cup / 240 g
- Pistachios, ground – 1.5 cups / 180 g
- Sugar – 1 cup / 200 g
- Water – 1 cup / 240 ml
- Lemon Juice – 1 tablespoon / 15 ml
- Honey – 2 tablespoons / 30 ml
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a small pot over low heat.
- Lay a sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface, brush with butter, and repeat with 4 layers.
- Evenly sprinkle ground pistachios over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a cylinder and cut into 2-inch pieces.
- Place the pieces on a baking sheet, brush tops with more butter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and crispy.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, lemon juice, and honey; bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Pour the hot syrup over the baked pastries.
- Let them soak and absorb the syrup as they cool.
