Ingredients
- beef sirloin – 500 g / 1.1 lbs
- onion – 1 large, finely chopped
- butter – 2 tbsp
- tomato sauce – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
- heavy cream – 1 cup / 240 ml
- mustard – 1 tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce – 1 tbsp
- salt – to taste
- black pepper – to taste
- batata palha (crispy potato sticks) – for serving
- cooked white rice – for serving
Instructions
- Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until soft and translucent.
- Increase the heat to high, add the beef strips, and sear until browned on all sides.
- Reduce heat to medium and stir in the tomato sauce, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the heavy cream, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring well. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, accompanied by cooked white rice and a generous handful of batata palha on top.
