- granulated sugar – 1 cup / 200 g
- butter, softened – 1/2 cup / 113 g
- milk – 1 cup / 240 ml
- eggs – 2 large
- vanilla extract – 1 tsp / 5 ml
- ground cinnamon – 1 tsp / 2.6 g
- baking powder – 2 tsp / 8 g
- salt – 1/4 tsp / 1.5 g
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool slightly before serving warm or at room temperature.
