Ingredients

  • Beef striploin – 1.2 kg / 2.6 lbs
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
  • Sea salt – 2 tsp / 10 g
  • Black pepper – 1 tsp / 5 g
  • Garlic cloves – 4, minced
  • Fresh rosemary – 2 sprigs
  • Lemon juice – 2 tbsp / 30 ml

Instructions

  1. Bring the beef striploin to room temperature by leaving it out for about 30 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and lemon juice.
  3. Rub the mixture onto both sides of the striploin, ensuring it is evenly coated. Place rosemary sprigs on top.
  4. Preheat a grill or barbecue to high heat. Once hot, place the beef on the grill.
  5. Grill the contrafilé for about 6-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove from the grill and allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice the contrafilé against the grain into thin strips and serve immediately.
