  • egg, beaten – 1 large

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the bread flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Knead until a smooth dough forms, about 10 minutes.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a roll and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Brush each roll with the beaten egg mixed with milk.
  7. Sprinkle the top of each roll with chopped bacon and grated cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
