Originating from the myriad of influences in Turkish cuisine, with traces from the Ottomans to the humble kitchens of rural Anatolia, Cacık combines the creaminess of yogurt with the crispness of cucumbers, a hint of garlic, and the zest of fresh herbs. This dish is versatile – whether it is served over warm pita, as a complement to grilled meats, or sipped on its own as a light, tangy soup.
