Ingredients
- beef sirloin – 500 g / 1.1 lbs
- soy sauce – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
- calamansi juice – 1/4 cup / 60 ml
- garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- onion – 2 large, sliced into rings
- water – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
- sugar – 1 tablespoon / 12 g
- black pepper – 1 teaspoon / 2 g
- oil – 2 tablespoons / 30 ml
Instructions
- Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and place them in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine soy sauce, calamansi juice, minced garlic, and black pepper. Pour the mixture over the beef and marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Saute the onion rings until soft and translucent. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the marinade into the pan, add water and sugar, then simmer for 15 minutes or until the beef is tender.
- Add the sauteed onions back to the pan and cook for another 2 minutes. Serve hot with rice.
