Ingredients
- Fresh shrimp – 500 g / 1 lb
- Mustard oil – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
- Onion, finely chopped – 1 cup / 150 g
- Garlic cloves, minced – 4 cloves
- Green chilies, chopped – 2-3
- Turmeric powder – 1 tsp / 5 g
- Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp / 2 g
- Salt – to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped – 2 tbsp / 5 g
- Lime, juiced – 1
Instructions
- Clean the shrimp thoroughly and set aside.
- Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat until it smokes slightly.
- Add chopped onions and garlic, cooking until the onions are soft and translucent.
- Stir in green chilies, turmeric powder, and red chili powder, mixing well.
- Add shrimp to the pan, cooking until they turn pink and opaque.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Transfer the shrimp mixture to a bowl and mash to your desired consistency.
- Season with salt, mix in chopped coriander leaves and lime juice.
- Serve warm or at room temperature with rice or flatbread.
