Ingredients

  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Potato, thinly sliced – 1 large / about 200 g
  • Onion, thinly sliced – 1 medium / about 150 g
  • Spinach leaves – 1 cup / 30 g
  • Coriander leaves, chopped – 1/4 cup / 15 g
  • Oil for frying – as needed

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, cumin seeds, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, stirring to form a smooth, lump-free batter.
  3. Add the potato, onion, spinach, and coriander leaves to the batter, coating them well.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Once hot, drop spoonfuls of the vegetable mixture into the oil, frying until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the bhajas with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot as a snack or appetizer.
