Ingredients

  • Abondance cheese – 400 g / 14 oz
  • White wine – 200 ml / 3/4 cup
  • Garlic cloves – 2, minced
  • Nutmeg – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt – to taste
  • Rustic bread or boiled potatoes – for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Grate the Abondance cheese and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the white wine gently and stir in the minced garlic.
  4. Add in the grated Abondance cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese melts smoothly.
  5. Season with nutmeg, black pepper, and salt, then pour the mixture into individual ovenproof dishes.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  7. Serve hot with slices of rustic bread or boiled potatoes.
