Ingredients
- whole chicken – 1 (4-5 lbs)
- olive oil – 2 tablespoons

- beer (12 oz can) – 1 can
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F/190°C).
- Remove any giblets from the chicken and pat dry with paper towels.

- Open the beer can and pour out (or drink) half of the beer.
- Sit the chicken upright on the beer can, inserting the can in the cavity so that the chicken balances on it.
- Place the chicken, standing on the beer can, on the grill. Close the lid.
- Grill the chicken for 1.5 to 2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the breast.
- Carefully remove from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
