Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour – 4 cups / 500 g

  • granulated sugar – 1/2 cup / 100 g
  • unsalted butter, melted – 1/2 cup / 115 g
  • eggs – 3 large
  • vanilla extract – 1 tsp
  • salt – 1/2 tsp
  • dark chocolate chips – 1 cup / 175 g
  • cocoa powder – 2 tbsp / 15 g
  • cinnamon – 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle. Sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it lengthwise. Twist the two halves together and place in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before serving.
