Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour – 2 cups / 240 g
  • semolina – 1 cup / 160 g
  • unsalted butter, melted – 1/2 cup / 115 g
  • milk – 1/4 cup / 60 ml
  • sugar – 1/4 cup / 50 g
  • rose water – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
  • orange blossom water – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
  • chopped walnuts – 1 cup / 100 g
  • sugar syrup – 1 cup / 240 ml
  • ground cinnamon – 1 tsp / 2 g

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, semolina, sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  3. Add melted butter, milk, rose water, and orange blossom water. Mix until a dough is formed.
  4. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Spoon a bit of the dough and roll it into small logs roughly 3 inches in length.
  6. Arrange the logs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. While warm, drizzle sugar syrup over the Asabi and top with chopped walnuts.
  9. Allow to cool and serve.
