Ingredients
- fresh tuna steaks – 500 g / 1 lb
- olive oil – 2 tablespoons / 30 ml
- onion, finely chopped – 1 medium / 150 g
- green bell pepper, chopped – 1 medium / 120 g
- tomatoes, diced – 2 large / 400 g
- garlic cloves, minced – 3 cloves / 15 g
- smoked paprika – 1 teaspoon / 5 g
- white wine – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
- bay leaf – 1 leaf
- salt – to taste
- black pepper – to taste
- parsley, chopped – 2 tablespoons / 8 g
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and let them cook until softened.
- Add the smoked paprika and stir to combine the flavors.
- Place the tuna steaks in the skillet and sear each side until lightly browned.
- Pour in the white wine and add the bay leaf. Reduce heat to low and cover the skillet.
- Simmer for 15 minutes, allowing the tuna to soak up the flavors.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
