Ingredients
- all-purpose flour – 2 cups / 240 g
- olive oil – 1/4 cup / 60 ml
- warm water – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
- salt – 1/2 tsp / 3 g
- ground beef – 1 lb / 450 g
- onion – 1 large, finely chopped
- garlic cloves – 2, minced
- ground cumin – 1 tsp / 3 g
- ground cinnamon – 1/4 tsp / 1 g
- tomato paste – 2 tbsp / 30 g
- pine nuts – 1/4 cup / 35 g
- fresh parsley – 1/4 cup, chopped
- lemon juice – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
- ground black pepper – 1/4 tsp / 1 g
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually mix in olive oil and warm water until a dough forms. Knead briefly, cover, and set aside to rest.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned.
- Stir in cumin, cinnamon, tomato paste, pine nuts, and cook for a few minutes until fragrant.
- Remove from heat, mix in parsley, lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the dough and cut into circles about 4 inches in diameter.
- Place a tablespoon of filling onto each circle, fold over, and seal edges by pressing with a fork.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
