Ingredients
- fresh ground corn – 2 cups / 320 g
- milk – 1 cup / 240 ml
- butter – 3 tablespoons / 42 g
- sugar – 2 tablespoons / 25 g
- salt – 1 teaspoon / 5 g
- banana leaves – for wrapping
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh ground corn with milk, butter, sugar, and salt.
- Mix until you have a smooth dough.
- Preheat a steamer.
- Cut banana leaves into rectangular pieces, about 10 inches wide.
- Place a portion of the dough onto the center of each banana leaf and fold to enclose.
- Arrange the wrapped dough parcels into the steamer basket.
- Steam for about 40-45 minutes, or until the dough is firm and cooked through.
- Remove from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving.
