Ingredients
- soy sauce – 1/2 cup / 120 ml
- fresh ginger – 2 tbsp, finely grated / 18 g
- honey – 2 tbsp / 30 g
- rice vinegar – 1 tbsp / 15 ml
- garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- sesame oil – 1 tsp / 5 ml
- water – 2 tbsp / 30 ml
- cornstarch – 1 tsp / 3 g
- black pepper – 1/4 tsp / 1 g
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to form a slurry and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and black pepper. Stir well.
- Once the mixture starts to simmer, add the cornstarch slurry while stirring continuously.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in sesame oil.
- Allow to cool before transferring to a serving bowl or jar.
