- mozzarella cheese, shredded – 2 cups / 200 g
- Parmesan cheese, grated – 1/2 cup / 50 g
- basil leaves, chopped – 1/4 cup / 15 g
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine cooked ziti, tomato sauce, and ricotta cheese in a large mixing bowl. Stir to blend.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 20-25 minutes.
