Ingredients
- pickled herring fillets – 1 cup / 150 g
- sour cream – 1 cup / 240 ml
- red onion, finely chopped – 1/4 cup / 30 g
- fresh dill, chopped – 2 tablespoons / 8 g
- hard-boiled eggs, chopped – 2
- black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
- lemon juice – 1 tablespoon / 15 ml
- rye bread – To serve
Instructions
- Finely chop the pickled herring fillets and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Add the sour cream, finely chopped red onion, fresh dill, chopped hard-boiled eggs, black pepper, and lemon juice to the bowl.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Cover the bowl and let the spread chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve the sillikaviaari chilled on slices of rye bread.
